van den Bergh Foods

The photograph shows the installation of a rising arm barrier system for van den Bergh Foods at Purfleet. As part of the project we had to supply and install an electricity distribution board with individual circuits for each item of equipment.

Civil work included widening of an existing entry point, and laying of reinforced concrete to form entry and exit roads. We also formed the kerbed central island, with secondary islands to either side of the roads and undertook changes to white lining in the vicinity of the system.

Other civil and electrical work involved laying the trenches for electrical cabling (175metre run) and detector loops. Illuminated bollards were installed on the equipment islands, and the system was quickly commissioned and put into service.
